01Plain English summary

We process the minimum amount of data required to help you manage your warehouse bins. We don't track your customers, we don't sell your data, and we don't use third-party marketing trackers. If you uninstall the app, we delete your data. It's that simple.

03What data we collect

From Shopify (via OAuth and webhooks)

• Store details: shop domain (e.g., store.myshopify.com) and Location IDs.
• Product data: variant IDs, SKUs, and titles so we can map them to bins.
• Order info: we receive order and fulfillment webhooks to generate pick lists. We only read the item IDs and quantities; we do not store customer names or addresses.

From your input

• Bin information: names you create (e.g., "A1-04"), descriptions, and priority settings.
• Inventory logs: cycle count records and movement history within the app.

What we do NOT collect

• No customer PII: we do not store names, phone numbers, or emails of your customers.
• No payment data: all billing is handled by Shopify. We never see your credit card.

04Why we collect it

Under the GDPR, our legal basis for processing this data is Contractual Necessity. We need this information to sync your inventory and generate accurate pick lists. We also have a Legitimate Interest in maintaining security logs to keep the service running smoothly.

05Who we share it with

We do not sell your data to anyone. We only share information with the minimum service providers needed to run the app:

• Shopify: to handle authentication, data syncing, and billing.
• Linode / Akamai Cloud: our secure infrastructure provider.
• GitHub: to host our internal application images.

06Where your data lives

Your data is stored on secure servers located in Chicago, Illinois (USA). We ensure that our infrastructure providers maintain high-security standards for international data transfers.

07How long we keep it

• Active stores: we keep your data while the app is installed.
• Uninstalls: once you uninstall, your access tokens are deleted immediately. All other data is hard-deleted within 30 days.
• Compliance requests: we honor Shopify's "Redact" webhooks within 48 hours to ensure total data removal.

08How we protect it

We treat your data like our own.

• All data is encrypted in transit via TLS.
• Sensitive access tokens are encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption.
• We use Shopify Session Token validation on every single request to prevent unauthorized access.

09Your rights

Under GDPR, CCPA, and PIPEDA, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your data. You can also object to processing or request a data export. Since we don't store customer PII, most of these rights apply to your store's configuration data. Contact us at [email protected] to exercise these rights.

10Children's data

BinTech is built for business owners and warehouse operators. We do not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 18.

11Cookies & tracking

We don't use marketing cookies. We only use essential session cookies required to keep you logged into the BinTech dashboard within your Shopify admin.

12Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and notify you via the email address associated with your Shopify store.
